Columbus, Ohio – For the fourth consecutive year, readers of the nationally respected AmericanStyle magazine have chosen Columbus as one of the top 25 big cities for the arts.
The list,
determined by a popular vote of the magazine’s readers, is generated annually.
Columbus competed in the “Big City” category with cities that have a
population of 500,000 or higher.
“Columbus continues to be recognized nationally and internationally as a
cultural destination – a city with a vibrant, diverse arts community – thanks
to the talent and hard work of area artists and arts administrators and the
support of area individuals, community funders, the City of Columbus and
Franklin County,” said GCAC President Bryan W. Knicely.
Other big
cities on the list include: New York, Chicago, Austin (Texas), Portland (Ore.)
and Charlotte (N.C.). Cincinnati and Cleveland were mentioned in the mid-sized
category, for cities with a population of 100,000-499,999.
