We currently have an opening for a Communications Specialist.
Job Duties:
Develops and maintains relationships with media outlets throughout Ohio to
promote Greater Ohio’s programs and policies; coordinates and assists in
conducting public relations efforts through various media; serves as
primary media contact and resource for individuals and groups seeking
information from Greater Ohio; reviews media coverage; forms short and
long-term media strategies for Greater Ohio.
Plans and directs all copy for educational material for Greater Ohio;
creates and disseminates educational material to the public and partners
to promote Greater Ohio’s programs; works with the media to establish
Greater Ohio as a leader in smart growth and reinforces our brand and
strategic priorities; manages the design and on-going maintenance of
Greater Ohio’s website and blog.
Advises and consults with staff regarding public relations strategies;
serves as resource person for information on positive public presentation
of Greater Ohio’s programs and activities; performs other duties as
assigned.
Preferred Skills:
Excellent writing ability is a must as well as a proven ability to write
press releases, newsletters, blog entries and business correspondence; k
nowledge of public relations, journalism, and communications techniques;
expertise with viral media and knowledge of Creative Suites and
Dreamweaver; ability and desire to work in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of a range of smart growth issues is a plus, as is a personal
commitment to sustainable development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of undergraduate core program in journalism or communications
and 2 - 3 years experience in media communication techniques and
relations, including news writing, reporting, technical report
translation.
Pay is dependent on experience, and will be in the range of other
non-profits based in Columbus. Hours are expected to be full time, and
benefits are offered. Travel is minimal. Please respond with resume, no

Job Title: CHARITABLE PHARMACY MANAGER
Reports To: Board of Directors
Scope of Position:
Continuously improve programs to align with the mission and philosophy of the Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio, Inc. Develop and monitor the operation of the pharmacy to ensure excellent and compassionate outcomes for pharmacy clients and compliance with applicable laws and regulations for a Charitable Pharmacy. Supervise staff and volunteers within the pharmacy, monitor spending in relation to the budget, and represent the pharmacy within the community. Develop relationships with pharmaceutical companies and area medical practices to secure formulary donations.Job Responsibilities:
1)
Operations: Function as a Managing Pharmacist.Provide administrative oversight of the pharmacy including operational, inventory and financial management.
P
lan and implement pharmacy program. Monitor and evaluate pharmacy program to achieve annual goals and outcomes.Develop evaluation tools and processes for pharmacy.
Establish pharmacy policies and procedures.
Dispense prescription drugs; provide information about drugs to help clients understand doctor’s/heath provider’s instructions.
Monitor client outcomes to ensure medications are working effectively and safely.
Maintain pharmacy software system, troubleshoot problems, develop reports, and analyze equipment needs.
Supervise Pharmacy Staff and Volunteers.
Plan for and coordinate hiring process.
Conduct evaluations and develop plans to enhance staff/worker skills.
Conduct employee, student and volunteer orientation and training.
Supervise and develop schedule for paid, student and volunteer staff.
Provide evaluations and other reporting as required by College of Pharmacy and others.
Develop relationships with area schools to secure student workers and adhere to supervisory expectations of each program.
Establish and Monitor Record-keeping & Reporting Requirements.
Ensure program eligibility requirements for each client.
Create client intake forms and maintain records including client database.
Comply with pharmaceutical company reporting requirements and HIPAA
Complete and submit monthly report to Board of Directors.
Complete and submit records and reporting as required for grants or other funding sources.
Ensure regulatory compliance in all aspects of the pharmacy.
Marketing and Promotion of the Pharmacy
Represent the pharmacy at outside organizational meetings and functions.
Promote the pharmacy and services to the health care community including hospitals, physicians, physician practices, social health care agencies, health departments, etc.
Market pharmacy services for funding and donation purposes to the central Ohio community and the drug manufacturers.
Interaction with Clients—Client Service
a. Ensure each client is treated with respect.
b. Ensure that each client is connected with available community services.
c. Advise clients and answer questions about prescriptions drugs/side effects.
d. Help clients manage chronic conditions-- diabetes, asthma, blood pressure.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) licensed by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy with three years of management experience, preferably in a social service setting. Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral skills are required. Successful candidate must be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds in a faith-based setting and must be willing to work in the community helping to build relationships and connections.Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Office Environment – Adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. Job duties can primarily be performed from a desk; however some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items up to 35 lbs and driving an automobile will be required. Interaction with a diverse group of people will be required.Consulting Contract for Pharmacy Start-up
: The Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio, Inc. will open in October, 2009. Immediately prior to serving as the Charitable Pharmacy Manager, the successful candidate will operate under a personal services contract to develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures, formulary, software and record keeping requirements, staff hiring, and the development of relationships with pharmaceutical companies and area medical practices to secure formulary donations.START DATE
: The position of Pharmacy Manager will begin October 2009, when the pharmacy officially opens.
